Ghezzel first joined A.S Saint priest club (Association Sportive de Saint Priest, a French football Association) in the year 2004 and remained there till 2005, later on he played for different clubs like FC crotone (Football Club crotone), AS Biellese from 2005 - 2006, AC Pro Sesto (Associazione Calcio Pro Sesto, an Italian football club) from 2006 - 2007. And on 2nd of July, 2008 Ghezzel joined Serie A side of A.C. Siena.
Ghezzel during an interview with the A.C Siena’s website; stated that he has spoken with the Algerian head coach and manager Rabah Saadane and that he will be representing Algeria in international competition. Ghezzel also has the opportunity of representing France since he was born there. On 12th of November, 2008, he was called up by the Algerian football team head coach Rabah Saadane for a friendly match against Mali (Mali National Football team, its nickname Les Aigles which means The Eagles.
